It is very important for each gardener to maintain their vegetation throughout the year, enriching the earth with nutrients. One of the few really good supplements is bone meal, with which you can fertilize the soil or soil, giving your garden or garden a new life. The same mixture is often used for raising livestock. Meat-bone or fish meal is inexpensive and is an excellent assistant to summer residents.
What is bone meal
Of all natural fertilizers, this mixture can rightly be called a natural product, because it is nothing more than a ground skeleton, and phosphorus-rich bones have a beneficial effect on any kind of vegetation. Making flour is possible even at home. Due to its 100% natural composition, this fertilizer has many advantages over other no less popular mixtures:
- does not saturate the soil with nitrates or pesticides, which are dangerous to humans;
- fertilizer can be used during any phase of maturation, but not later than two weeks before harvesting;
- low cost of the product;
- no need to breed with water;
- economically consumed.
Due to its natural composition and high phosphorus content, this organic fertilizer is the best among mineral fertilizers, both for animals and soil. Calcium, nitrogen, fats, potassium, proteins, lysine, cystine, methionine - these biologically important trace elements are necessary for growing any garden crops.
There are several different technologies for how this fertilizer is produced. Based on the production method, several types are distinguished: regular, steamed and fat-free bone mixture. How to make bone meal at home
Organic fertilizer can be made with your own hands. To do this, you need to collect more bones (absolutely any fit: chicken, pork, fish, cow and so on) and do everything according to the instructions:
- Rinse the bones to clean them of other waste and prevent rot.
- Dry the bones in the usual way by spreading them on paper or a towel.
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and place the dried bones in it.
- After 15-20 minutes, remove the future organic dressing from the oven and let it cool.
- Grinding bones into powder is most convenient with gloves on.
- DIY bone meal is ready for use!

Bone meal application
The organic substance phosphoazotine with a composition rich in calcium and phosphorus has a beneficial effect on any decorative crops, therefore it is used for growing flower garden and indoor crops, but only according to the instructions. Powder is also added to plant composts before planting in order to saturate with the missing trace elements - phosphorus, potassium, while bone meal is not at all dangerous for humans.
How to store the product
The bone-and-flour product is stored in a dark, cool and dry place in tightly closed bags. It is not advisable to get moisture in a bag with a mixture of meat and bone meal.
